The role of non-physician clinicians in the health care delivery system is an important one, and we continue to advocate for direct physician supervision. Non-physician clinicians are well suited to provide patient care as part of a physician-led team. Attempts by non-physician clinicians to expand their defined scope of practice beyond the accepted levels are opposed. Additionally, we strongly oppose non-physician clinicians attempts to serve in a position of primary contact or as primary care providers.  |
