Robert Juhasz, D.O. first learned of OPAC in the early 1990’s at the AOA House of Delegates and, understanding the importance of political involvement, has been a strong supporter ever since. In July 2005, Dr. Juhasz was elected to serve as a “member-at-large,” a two-year position created to rotate active members onto the OPAC Board.
Believing that “all politics are local,” Dr. Juhasz works hard to ensure our legislators are aware of issues affecting osteopathic medicine. He consistently stays in touch with the offices of his Senators and Representative and collaborates with AOA specialty colleges, educating them on political activism. Dr Juhasz is also an active member of OPAC’s Premier Club.
“Through my participation in OPAC, I hope to impact the health of our nation for our patients and for those D.O.s who come after me,” said Dr. Juhasz when asked why he felt OPAC involvement was important. “OPAC educates osteopathic physicians about the views and votes of candidates and Members of Congress and alternately, provides access for physicians to meet with legislators. This gives physicians the opportunity to make informed choices on Election Day.”
